How a search for Christian dolls led to a big dream
Hello!
During my junior year of college, I learned by reading studies completed by child psychologists that dolls leave implicit messages- meaning children after playing with dolls will feel a certain way about themselves and the world based on what kind of doll they played with! Young girls were feeling negative about how they look and where they fit into the world after playing with some of the most popular fashion dolls on the market…
I searched and searched for an alternative, but could not find Christian play fashion dolls that were around 11 inches tall.
As I drafted and drew out what would become the first inkling of a Jadie, which is short for “Jesus Lady,” a play fashion doll that could help young girls know how much they’re loved by God while learning about the Bible and having fun, the pieces all came together for me. I’m passionate about dolls, and even more passionate about my Faith and helping others. In that class, we were given the assignment to come up with an idea that could impact culture for Christ, and Jadies fit the bill. When I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business, I kept the dream going- the dream to create positive, wholesome, imaginative, and fun play fashion dolls for Christ.
Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to support this dream by pre-ordering our first women of the Bible doll- Eve (who better to start with, right?), suggesting ideas/participating in research, or just want to say hi.
God bless,
